Luang Prabang, Laos – At streetview, Satri House looks like every other gated compound in the neighborhood. Low walls surround the garden property. Ubiquitous steel gates mark the exits. Tropical foliage peak from inside the walls. White residential buildings stand unimposing.
But, venture in, and it wouldn’t take too long for you to realize that the garden estate is like no other. You would easily find yourself getting lost in the maze-like layout. Discovering secret spaces and their pockets of solitude would have been otherwise impossible had you not taken a wrong turn too many.
