Have you ever visited Îles du Frioul in Marseille, France?
More often than not, we find ourselves regretting the paths we did not take.
We take the choice to go this way, not that way, then follow where the road leads, hoping that a view worth the time awaits at that X mark on the map.
Even then, it is tempting to go on worrying about what could have, instead of paying attention to what is. What ifs are difficult to let go of, but they make it even more difficult to be in the moment, to see the now – being there, but not really seeing what lies before the eyes.
But, once in a while, some scenes – of aquamarine waters and white sand in a deserted beach, perhaps – capture the attention too intensely that second-guessing your steps right then and there is impossible.
