Finding Something?

Îles du Frioul, Marseille, France

Have you ever visited Îles du Frioul in Marseille, France?

primer-iles

More often than not, we find ourselves regretting the paths we did not take.

We take the choice to go this way, not that way, then follow where the road leads, hoping that a view worth the time awaits at that X mark on the map.

Even then, it is tempting to go on worrying about what could have, instead of paying attention to what is. What ifs are difficult to let go of, but they make it even more difficult to be in the moment, to see the now – being there, but not really seeing what lies before the eyes.

But, once in a while, some scenes – of aquamarine waters and white sand in a deserted beach, perhaps – capture the attention too intensely that second-guessing your steps right then and there is impossible.

Agree that it seems detached from Marseille. Do you know that elevated spot on the tower’s rooftop where your voice echoes? Miss how surreal it feels playing there!

Thanks! Glad you like it! We were actually going around the South of France on this trip – we came from Lyon. I believe there are flights serviced by Air France from Paris to Marseille, though if you are coming from there.

Thank you for your kind words! Really heartwarming. The place is even more gorgeous in person. I think our photos are far from capturing how magical it feels surrounded by the aquamarine sea and and those white cliffs!

Îles du Frioul is a really small island. You can almost see the entire island from wherever you are standing. Boats depart from Marseille’s Vieux-Port coming here. A lot of people visit Château d’If. The boat that goes there also goes to the other islands in the Frioul archipelago.

Côte d’Azur is certainly a romantic place to cruise around, isn’t it? Quick question: how did you like Nice and Monaco?

Totally agree with you, Maryana! You’d be delighted to know – there’s a small village just a few meters from those lovely waters.
